One of the most significant dates in Philippine history is Independence Day because it marks the nation’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898. Filipinos celebrate it annually on June 12.

In line with the celebration of Independence Day, Sun Life Financial Philippines originated the month of June as Financial Independence Month for 6 years in a row now.

Last May 17, along with my Sun Life colleagues, we completed a two-day workshop conducted by Ron Sy and Jeff Luspo of ABC Academy. We learned how to provide ideas, concepts and tools to realign with our clients’ life goals. We are now more equipped to provide a broader overview of the importance of financial planning and provide an actual personalized financial plan to our valued clients.

Financial Advisors play a major role in changing the Philippines through proper financial planning.

Happy Friday and “long” weekend, everyone!

As I wrap up my work week, I would like to leave something here for you to think about and consider.

Think about this for a moment.

Every single day we use money. Every single day we make money decisions. But why is it not taught in school?

Why were we not taught about…
🏦 creating a budget — so you can save regularly
💳 managing a credit card — so you don’t get buried in debts
💰 or investing — so you can prepare wisely for your retirement

Money is obviously a part of our everyday lives. Why money management isn’t being taught in school?

So, if you haven’t learned financial literacy in school, IT’S TIME. It’s up to us NOW to seek advice and understand personal finance and money management.

Beautiful Day

Hardly the day started… and it is already six o’ clock in the evening.

Barely arrived on Monday and it’s already Friday.

… and the month is almost over.
… and the year is almost up.
… and already 50 or 60 or 70 years of our lives have passed.
… and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
and we realize that it is too late to go back…

So… Let’s TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE of the time we have left…
Let’s not stop looking for activities that we like…
Let’s PUT COLOR in our grayness…
Let’s SMILE at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And yet, we must continue to enjoy serenely the time that remains. 
Let’s try to eliminate the “after”…
I do it after…
I will say after…
I will think about it after…
We leave everything for ‘later’ as if “after” was ours.
Because what we do not understand is that:
after, the coffee cools…
after, priorities change…
after, the charm is broken…
after, health passes…
after, the children grow up…
after, the parents get older…
after, the promises are forgotten…
after, the day becomes the night…
after, life ends…
And all that afters, we find it’s often too late…

So… LEAVE NOTHING FOR “LATER”…
Because in always waiting for later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
the best friends,
the best family…
The day is TODAY… The moment is NOW…

SEIZE THE DAY! CARPE DIEM!

Sing like you’ve never sung before. 
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Trust like nobody’s gonna ever betray you.
Love like you’ve never been hurt before. 
Live fearlessly.
After all, God’s ALWAYS GOT YOUR BACK, through it all
